    i will be in S. Korea this 22nd March. It will be my first backpacking trip abroad and I will be alone. 🙂

    My question is, do i need to buy Korean Won before I depart Phils? My friend told me that he bought US $ here then he exchange it KRW when he’s in Korea. What’s the best thing to do?

Normally USD gets converted with better rates… but to answer your question, I always suggest to arrive at the country with just enough local money to get you from the airport to the hotel. However, for my SK trip I actually brought Philippine peso and had it exchanged in the airport 🙂
